Coronavirus Restrictions

As the world still struggles with the challenges that the coronavirus poses, the United States has put into place a variety of different restrictions in order to keep us safe; however, recently, many places have loosened these restrictions. States like Connecticut, Kentucky, and Minnesota have eased restrictions and are set to reopen soon; however states like Illinois, Michigan, and New Jersey are still completely shut down. These huge differences have caused protesters to ignore stay-at-home restrictions and leave for the streets. Each state is approaching this virus differently as each state is affected by this pandemic differently. Protesters are using our own president’s rhetoric to question the validity of this virus and attempt to have restrictions overturned. On both a federal and state level, officials are faced with an inability to control citizens’ responses. They are doing their best to implement and enforce rules and regulations; however, they recognize that it is unrealistic to expect everyone to follow these rules. It is especially difficult for some to follow all of these regulations when they clash with religious practices and inhibit people from supporting themselves and their families.
